This project begins to investigate private comforts we take part in, physical routine in relationship, and what factors create an intimate portrait. Individuals and their private moments are the subjects of these photographs, and the images are used to document non-romantic intimacy in relationships. All portraits were shot in the studio using similar starkness to create a juxtaposition between comforts and softness, and open a harsh focus on personal detail. All images are digital. 13x19 inkjet prints of all images available for purchase upon request.
LAUNDRY: Public & Private Space
This project investigates the conjunction of public and private rituals within a shared space. Images document strangers - and the clothing, rituals, and routines they brought into their neighborhood laundromat - as subjects. Shot on 120mm film.
SENEGAL: NGO Work
These images were shot in Dakar and Saint-Louis, Senegal, for organizations Go Doc Go and La Korsa. The two organizations provide health care treatment, teaching, and needed medical supplies to communities in need in both Senegal and Ethiopia. Some images were photographed within the cities, and some at the Central Regional Hospital of Saint-Louis. Shot on both digital and 35mm film.
Collection of commissioned lifestyle portraiture work.
